Facilities at Avalon Farm

 

 

 

The Barns:  The modern 12-stall barn has 10x12, 12x12 and 12x14 stalls available.  All stalls have rubber mats.  The barn design uses skylights and windows to provide a bright, well-ventilated environment for your horse.  Some stalls have walk-out paddocks attached.

 

The Pony Barn is a renovated 200 year old barn with three stalls; two with walk-out paddocks.

 
Riva and Dragonfly We can accommodate brood mares.  The large 12x14 stalls were designed as foaling stalls.  We have successfully raised foals from birth here at Avalon.

The Arenas:  Both indoor and outdoor arenas were professionally installed with a stone dust base, a fabric stone barrier, and porous sub-base for superior drainage and all-weather use. The riding surfaces are level and consistent, have excellent footing, and are groomed regularly. 

A separate round pen is also available.  This round pen can be used for training young horses, beginner lessons, lunging, and other warm-up exercises.

Click to Enlarge The indoor arena is 72x120. It is well lit with natural and artificial light and has 8 foot high kickboards.

 

The outdoor arena is 100x200, and can accommodate both small and large regulation size dressage rings. The ring is lighted for evening use. Click to Enlarge

Horses are turned out daily when weather permits.  There are five grass pastures and two sand paddocks available for turnout.  The grass pastures are actively maintained.   

 

Access to trails:  The farm is adjacent to local trails, and is also near Miles Standish State Forest, Duxbury Town Forest and ocean beaches.
